HACRO
Official agencies or similar groups in Hertfordshire can apply on behalf of ex-offenders who are under the supervision of probation. Information and references must be provided as evidence of the ex-offender’s efforts in their own rehabilitation. Payment is always made direct to a recognised organisation.
Grants are generally £50–£100 and must serve an evident rehabilitation effect. Requests can be for birth certificates and ID; training courses; work clothes, equipment and tools; clothing due to weight change; and home essentials such as household items, white goods and bedding.
Grant funding is entirely dependent on members' subs and personal donations.
Requests can be submitted via the HACRO website or direct to the office. Each submission is reviewed by the Project Support and Development Worker and nominated team of HACRO Trustees.
Turnaround time is entirely dependent on the information supplied and complexity of the submission, but some decisions can be made in 3 weeks.
