St Giles Trust RLSE provides grants to those who are seeking to gain employment to break the cycle of offending. Applications should be made by any individual who is at risk of offending or re-offending whether they are in custody or in the community.
Grants can be used for vocational, employment and skill training that will significantly increase or secure employment opportunities. Tools of trade and travel to work grants are considered where appropriate. Some grants are of a therapeutic nature, these are only available for serving prisoners.
Accommodation costs, debts, loans or fines of any kind. Forklift driving courses or any training above £500, any personal clothing and Open University or distance learning unless employment related.
Application forms together with current guidelines and timetables are available by emailing RLSE@stgilestrust.org.uk. Completed applications must also include a personal statement or letter explaining why you need the funding and how it will help improve your employability, a supporting statement on headed paper from your wing officer, resettlement worker, CRC/NPS Officer or similar and a completed form. It is essential these are included for your application to be considered.
All applications are acknowledged and given a confidential reference number which should be quoted in subsequent correspondence and/or telephone contacts.
The dates for decision making are set out a year in advance and are accessible on the website or by emailing rlse@stgilestrust.org.uk, decisions are made every 2 months.
