Who Can Apply

Charities that support prisoners. Adult prisoners BUT any grants will only be paid to providers/suppliers and not to individual prisoners

What Can Be Funded

Course and exam fees up to £500. Up to £300 towards the cost of tools and equipment for employment.

What Can Not Be Funded

Accommodation and living expenses, childcare, travel, computers.

How To Apply

Write to the address below with:

  • details of the reason for the grant
  • evidence of costings and how you plan to find any shortfall
  • the name and bank details of the provider/supplier

Enclose a short letter on headed paper from both the Learning and Skills Manager and a member of the Offender Management Unit, endorsing your request and showing their contact details.

If a grant is made it will only go to a provider or supplier.

Acknowledgement

No acknowledgement except for successful applications.

Notes

A typical grant could be £300–£500.
