You will need to be over 19 years old; living in the UK on the first day of your course; be a UK national or have settled status; be studying at an approved college or training provider in England. Check the website for details about eligibility for non-UK nationalities.

What Can Be Funded
If you are studying for a level 3, 4, 5 or 6 qualification at an approved college or training provider, an Advanced Learner Loan can help with the costs of your course.
How To Apply
Check your course qualifies for the loan, and ask the provider or college for a 'Learning and funding information' letter.

Applying online via the website below is the easiest way but you can also request a postal application form by telephone. You will need a passport or birth or adoption certificate as ID to apply.
Notes

You’ll have to start repaying your loan when your income is over a certain amount (the ‘threshold’ amount) and you’ll be charged interest from the day you get the first payment.

You may also be eligible for money from the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan/bursary-fund If you wish to receive money from the Bursary fund you will need to apply your college or training provider as each one has its own application process.
