Who Can Apply

Those aged 18+, who are UK residents and wish to study in the UK, who are in genuine financial need and who have not yet started their course.  

What Can Be Funded
City & Guilds and ILM qualifications in sectors including building services; digital and IT; engineering, health and social care; and hospitality and catering. Check the website for the full list. You can apply for a bursary of up to £6,000. This is to cover the total cost of your training programme and any tools or learning materials required. Most bursaries granted are for amounts between £2,500 and £5,000. If you are awarded a bursary, it may be a partial reward and not the full requested amount.

Key Dates

Registration of interest for the bursary prorgamme is open Autumn (Sept/Oct), Winter (Jan/Feb) and Spring (May/June).

Acknowledgement

After completing the Registration of Interest, you will receive an application form if you are eligible to apply. You will then receive notification as to whether your application will move forward to the interview stage.

We want to ensure that receiving a City & Guilds bursary gives you the best possible chance of finding employment opportunities, and so we are seeking applications from those who wish to study in an industry that is facing skills shortages. As part of your application we would like to see evidence that you have thought about the employment opportunities available and possible career routes.
